Our Colleagues at Fextralife Launch a New Home for Game Modifications
The modding scene is increasingly more expansive or so sought after as it is currently. Developers who designed innovative systems for classics such as Skyrim and Baldur’s Gate III have obtained prominent roles in the industry. Full-fledged projects were developed on the backs of others. Someone even figured out how to make Silksong slightly less challenging.
Certainly, in this time, anything seems possible with an idea, coding skills, and some determination. Therefore, it’s expected that a growing segment of the market is seeking to back that constantly increasing customization network, and that our friends from Fextralife are joining the effort. Recently, the wiki site revealed it would broaden its services with the FXMods system, a “brand-new gaming mod platform designed for gamers who desire a quick, no-cost, and unlimited modifications to improve their favorite games.
FXMods promises to be a complimentary system with no download speed throttling, immediate availability, and integration with the larger Fextralife wiki system, which intends to permit makers to achieve greater visibility as users encounter their mods within a broader collection.
What is the goal for FXMods? I asked Fextralife’s Matt Hook, who has been deeply involved in shepherding the launch.
“What we're doing here is sincerely seeking to prioritize the user experience,” Hook says. “We want a great experience for the gaming community to be able to download mods swiftly and simply, and we want to recognize mod creators and members of the community with credit and benefits.”
