As per his arrest document, Brown is alleged of grabbing a firearm from a security guard after a star boxing event in May and firing multiple rounds at a man he had clashed with previously. The reported target, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, informed authorities that a bullet touched his neck.

“The actions he was forced to take were solely in defense against the reported victim’s hostile behavior. Brown was attacked that night and behaved within his legal entitlement to protect himself,” Eiglarsh said.
Brown was not right away detained because initially officers did not consider Nantambu as a target. It not until later in May that Nantambu provided a complete account about the incident to officers and pointed out Brown as the shooter, the report states.
