Filly & Mare Sprint Preview

This event was expected to be one of the stronger editions of this unique seven-furlong contest for fillies and mares. However, veterinary inspections led to multiple withdrawals this morning, including top contenders Sweet Azteca as well as Tamara.

As a result, the lineup now appears much smaller, though trainer Bob Baffert has a major opportunity to claim a twentieth Breeders’ Cup victory. His runners feature Richi along with Splendora, while Hope Road, victor in the G1 Ballerina Stakes, is viewed as the main challenger.
