Barcelona Set to Play Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
